Niall Horan Receives One Direction Style Welcome As He Touches Down In Tokyo

From the moment he stepped off the plane in Japan today, Niall Horan sent fans into a complete frenzy.

The blonde soloist touched down in Tokyo this morning ahead of promoting his upcoming album across East Asia.

And it’s safe to say Niall has stolen hearts all across the globe, not just in his native Ireland, as fans gave him a huge welcome at Narita airport.

A mob of screaming girls waited at arrivals to catch a glimpse of the former One Direction star.

Fans showed up with personalised hand fans decorated with all-things Niall, from the Irish flag to the names of his two solo singles.

And it seems a lot of his Japanese admirers are still clinging on to the One Direction days.

Girls posed with One Direction album covers, as well as a sign that read ‘We Love You Niall… Welcome To JP’.

Another Horan lover took to Twitter to express their excitement, saying,

While a video posted to Twitter shows Niall smiling at the thousands of screaming fans as he walks through arrivals.

He also took the time to sign autographs for eager onlookers and give interviews to the Japanese press.

One proud local wrote, “Japan sweetie, you’re doing amazing” alongside the clip of cheering fans.

Following his arrival into Japan from Australia, Niall took to Twitter to say how overwhelmed he was by his fans’ reaction.

Well that was one hell of a welcome! Haven’t seen anything like that for years. Thank you Japan. See you all tomorrow.

The endless sea of screaming girls certainly brings the 23-year old back to his 1D days.

He is currently embarking on the global promo tour for his first solo album.

Although we know his debut record is on its way, the heartthrob has kept coy about all the details.

Talking in a recent interview with Billboard, the young musician said of the album’s release,

End of fall, start of winter, I guess. I’ve decided to ride it out, see what happens, and then kind of let people know when I’m ready to go.

Having already teased us with ‘This Town’, as well as the super catchy ‘Slow Hands’, there’s no doubt that Horan’s upcoming album will be a massive success.
