The Andy Griffith Show was an American sitcom that ran from 1960 to 1968. For 249 episodes it entertained audiences, portraying the widowed sheriff Andy Taylor and his life within the fictional community of Mayberry, North Carolina.
Never being placed lower than seventh in the Nielsen ratings, and with its final season topping the chart of number one, it was and still is a much loved television show.
