The Gabors, Are These The Original Kardashian Sisters?
For the past decade, celebrities and us normal folk have looked to the Kardashian women as a source of inspiration, envy, and even – at times – a bit of an annoyance. Why’s that? Well, they’re perfectly sculptured ladies with glamorous lives and a closet that’ll make any fashion-enthusiast blush.
But prior to 2007, when the first episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians aired, did we perhaps miss what was sitting right before our eyes? That is, the Gabor sisters, Magda, Zsa Zsa, aka the original Kardashian girls?
Read about these sassy sisters and the way in which they too shook the world with their scandal and style.
Magda, Zsa Zsa and Eva Gabor
Meet Magda, Zsa Zsa and Eva – the three sisters born during World War I who, together, caused quite a stir in a somewhat conservative society during the 50’s.
The Gabor sisters came from a Hungarian-Jewish background, with their father, Vilmos, serving in the Hungarian army and their mother, Jolie, the owner of a jewelry empire.
Magda, the oldest sister, was born in 1915, Zsa Zsa in 1917, and Eva in 1919. And it was in 1944, during World War II, that the three sisters – along with their parents, fled Hungary and found solace on American shores.
