Travolta had excelled at sports at high school, but he decided to drop out at the age of sixteen to focus on acting. “Not too many of my friends identified with what I was doing,” he said. “I participated in football and basketball, and did what they were doing, but not many kids understood my going to acting studios at night.” It’s funny to think that a man who would soon become famous for playing one of the most famous high school students in movie history never finished high school himself.
