Janet Jackson Welcomes Baby Boy Into The World
Popstar Janet Jackson has welcomed a baby boy into the world, her first child with husband Wissam Al Mana.
The star’s representative confirmed the couple’s exciting news, saying the 50-year old mom gave birth to her son on Tuesday, January 3.
Quietly marrying in a private ceremony in 2012, Wissam is Janet’s third husband, with her previously being married to James DeBarge and René Elizondo, Jr.
It was confirmed in May 2016 that the couple were expecting their first child together. Their son has been named Eissa, and Janet is believed to have had a ‘stress free and healthy delivery’.
41-year old Wissam, who is a Qatari business magnate and the director of Al Mana Group, and music icon Janet Jackson began planning their family last year, with the pop diva even delaying her ‘Unbreakable World Tour’ due to plans to start a family with her husband.
She informed her fans via her Facebook page in April – ‘My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders! But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.’
The superstar has since gone out of the public limelight, keeping the months leading up to the birth of her son very private and staying out of the eye of the media and paparazzi.
She showcased her growing bump in September of last year while out on a shopping trip.
Jackson told People in October 2016 that her and Wissam ‘thank god for their blessing’, with her becoming a mom at 50-years old.
Both mother and baby are reported to be well and resting comfortably. Jackson’s family members were quick to express just how happy they were for the singer. Latoya Jackson tweeted:
