Bowie’s Wife Iman Pays Tribute To Late Star One Year After His Death
Iman took to Instagram to post a moving tribute to her late husband on Tuesday, January 10, one year after the music icon passed away.
The 61-year old supermodel shared a stunning photograph on social media of a double rainbow shining across the New York City skyline. She captured the image on the day of the first anniversary of Bowie’s death.
The caption read ‘Jan 10th, 2016 NYC Skyline #ForeverAndEver #ForeverLove #BowieForever’.
Supportive fans commented on her post, with many leaving rainbow emoji’s and one fan pointing out ‘he was definitely checking in and sending love’.
Iman married the legendary singer in 1992, with them going on to have their first child together – Alexandria Zahra Jones – eight years later.
Bowie tragically passed away at the age of 69 after losing his year and a half battle with liver cancer. During his illness, he kept himself out of the public eye, causing his fans to be left in complete shock when the news broke that the superstar had lost his life.
Yet Ziggy Stardust certainly left his stamp on the world before his shocking death in 2016, releasing his final album ‘Blackstar’ just two days before he died.
This went on to be one of his most acclaimed albums, with fans treasuring the last record Bowie and left them.
Over the past year, Iman has expressed her immense sorrow on social media with her often posting in honour of her much-loved husband.
In June 2016, it would have been their 24th wedding anniversary. Iman shared a throwback black and white picture of the couple smiling happily on the beach.
The music video for Bowie’s song was released on his birth this year just a few days ago, January 8.
