Gavin Rossdale Admits He Never Wanted A Divorce From Gwen Stefani
Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani’s marriage ended in 2015 after almost 13 years together.
But the lead singer of Bush has recently claimed that he never wanted their relationship to end in divorce.
Gavin, who’s currently starring as a judge on UK reality competition The Voice, spoke out in an interview with Fabulous magazine about his ex-wife.
The couple’s split was highly publicised, with rumours that Gavin had actually cheated with the family nanny causing Gwen to file for divorce.
Rossdale opened up and explained how divorce was the last thing he wanted to go through.
Apart from death, I think divorce is one of the hardest, most painful things to go through.
The rock star also went on to admit that if he could turn back time there would be a lot of things he’d do differently in their marriage.
There’s no doubt however that Gavin still has a lot of admiration and respect for Gwen.
We had 20 years together and that in itself is pretty incredible. It’s a lifetime. I still think she’s incredible. It was a lovely 20 years and we have three amazing children. There were a lot of positives, and with time they’ll become more and more obvious.
The couple have three sons together; Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo who is two-years old.
They’ve both made a promise to each other to remain dedicated to their children and work together to be co-parents, despite their divorce.
Stefani is now dating American singer songwriter Blake Shelton, but has also opened up about her marriage with Gavin in previous interviews, saying she felt like a failure for it not lasting.
She told Glamour magazine in December 2016,
I had to work really hard at marriage, all the time, like everybody, but ours was extra hard, when you add that we’re from different countries, both of us being in music, and celebrity. [It] was the only thing I didn’t want to fail at.
