Actor Shia LaBeouf Arrested At Anti-Trump Installation In NYC
Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested at the site of his anti-Trump art installation in New York City.
Police were seen taking the star, who first rose to fame as a teenager on Disney Channel’s Even Stevens, away from the scene in handcuffs following a supposed fight with another man.
The 30-year old was arrested on site in Queens on the evening of Wednesday, January 25, after a tense disagreement with a man who had opposing political views to LaBeouf.
The ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ installation is set to be at the site for the whole of Trump’s four years of presidency, or however long his time in office lasts.
The details of what happened aren’t completely clear; a video of the Transformers actor shoving into a man has appeared on social media, under the #HeWillNotDivideUs hashtag, after the man in question was seen saying ‘Hitler did nothing wrong’ to the camera.

But fellow protesters, who were at the installation at New York City’s Museum of the Moving Image, have argued that it was the ‘Nazi man’ who was in the wrong and that Shia LaBeouf was simply sticking up for everyone there.
Videos emerged of fans and supporters of the star saying ‘Shia took a hit for us. There were all these Nazis here, he came out and tried to protect us.’
TMZ have reported that Shia supposedly scratched the man and grabbed him by his scarf after hearing his controversial comment.
The ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ art work has been open since the day of Trump’s inauguration.
LaBeouf wants to invite people to come and visit the installation and repeat the words as an act of defiance against the 45th U.S. President.
A camera is actually set up on the wall opposite the actor’s piece of art filming a constant live stream for people to view all over the world online, 24 hours a day.
Members of the New York Police Department have been on site since the opening in case of any trouble emerging.
