Mischa Barton On Verge Of Another Mental Breakdown – The O.C. Star Is Hospitalised
British-American film star Mischa Barton has reportedly been hospitalised after police responded to a disturbance call regarding her strange and worrying behaviour.
The former star of The O.C., best known by fans as Marissa Cooper, was said to be displaying incoherent and concerning behaviour around her friends and onlookers.
A police sheriff for West Hollywood told E! News, ‘she was making incoherent statements that made absolutely no sense and she was transported to the hospital.’
Barton was spotted behaving bizarrely in the backyard of her Hollywood home, with local authorities responding to a call about the actress’s dysfunctional manner.
She was said to be dressed in just a shirt and necktie, while leaning off the edge of her balcony.
The fashion model was talking nonsense, telling her friends she was a ‘witch’ and warning them the ‘earth was shattering’, according to reports made by TMZ.
The Notting Hill star was taken to a nearby hospital in L.A. on Thursday, January 26, due to her unstable mental condition.
Close friends and neighbours was said to be extremely alarmed by the 31-year old’s actions. She is now thought to be under mental evaluation at the local hospital.
This kind of erratic behaviour isn’t completely new to the star, who had a severe mental breakdown in 2009.
Talking to People magazine a few years afterwards, the star reflected on how much her mental health had deteriorated.
It was terrifying… Straight out of Girl, Interrupted. Story of my life.
She also understood that her celebrity lifestyle could only be to blame for her inevitable downfall.
There were a lot of enablers around, people to fly you around and make it all possible.
The ‘enormous pressure’ she felt as a teenager is what Mischa believes led to her life spiralling out of control.
She was finally admitted to a psychiatric ward in 2009 by her parents after she tried to take her own life.
The recent news of her worrying episode comes just a year after she vowed to get her career back on track.
