Paris Jackson Is Set To Make Acting Debut
Paris Jackson is following in the footsteps of her father Michael Jackson and entering the world of showbiz.
She’s turning her attention to a career in TV, with the 18-year old being cast in the popular Fox series Star.
Miss Jackson is set to join the show later this season, starring as Rachel Wells – a young, stylish, know-it-all social media queen who oversees a shoot that the girls are on.
Rachel’s rebellious ways cause characters Eva and Star to push the boundaries on set.
This is Paris’s first scripted acting role, with her set to appear alongside cast members Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demurest, Brittany O’Grady, Ryan Destiny, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown.
Other famous guest stars to take to the Stars screen so far are Lenny Kravitz, Tyrese Gibson and Naomi Campbell.
The show follows a girlband who are looking for their big break into the world of pop, being mentored by Queen Latifah’s character Carlotta Brown.
Lee Daniels, the creator of the show, recently posted a photo of himself and Paris on his Instagram, letting followers know of their collaboration.
The post caused fans to speculate over the teen’s involvement with Star, but it’s since been confirmed that she is indeed joining the casting line up.
Paris has kept a relatively low profile since her father’s tragic death in June 2009.
She burst back into the public eye with a Rolling Stone cover and interview, making many shocking revelations about what she thought about MJ’s death – going as far to say she believed that he was murdered.
It’s clear Paris has wanted to get into acting for many years and that her father’s talents have inspired her to pursue her dreams. Talking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2011, the blonde beauty said,
When I was really little. My dad was in the movie, Moonwalker, and I knew he could sing really well but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him’.
Star will be aired on Fox on Wednesday nights at 9pm.
