Caitlyn Jenner Speaks Out Against President Donald Trump’s Latest Transgender Policy

She’s one of the most famous transgender icons in the world, and now Caitlyn Jenner is lashing out at President Donald Trump for his latest knock back in the fight for equal rights for the LGBTQ community.

Jenner, along with many others, is not happy with Trump‘s most recent transgender policy. He has overturned Barack Obama’s decision to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that they best associate themselves with.

The guideline was put in place by the former President to support all those with different gender identity’s than what they were born with, and to help them feel accepted in society.

The 45th President’s latest administrations have seen him go back on the guidelines set by Obama, therefore aptly unprotecting young people who are becoming – or who have become – transgender.

Since Trump has diminished the ruling, Jenner has stepped up to defend the transgender community and brand the President’s decision a ‘disaster’.

Taking to her Twitter account, the 67-year old TV personality said,

Well @realDonaldTrump, from one Republican to another, this is a disaster. You made a promise to protect the L.G.B.T.Q community. Call me.

The video sees her show support and hope for transgenders across the USA, with her saying,

You’re winning. I know it doesn’t feel like it today or every day, but you’re winning.

She goes on to say,

Very soon we will win full freedom nationwide, and it’s going to be with bipartisan support. You can help by checking out the National Center for Transgender Equality and letting Washington hear you loud and clear.

Many of her followers were unhappy that Caitlyn didn’t speak out sooner regarding the new legalisation.

Jenner, who went public with her gender transition in July 2015 in a Vanity Fair cover shoot, showed a lot of support for Trump throughout his campaign period.

Talking in June of last year, the inspirational figure said,

Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the L.G.B.T. community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the L.G.B.T. community.

Jenner has shared a link to the National Center for Transgender Equality, a site which allows people to express their opinion on Trump’s latest decision to revoke Obama’s transgender bathroom rule.
