Amanda Seyfried Pays Tribute To Her On-Screen Dad Bill Paxton Following His Death
The acting world lost one of its greatest talents over the weekend.
Bill Paxton passed away at the age of 61 following complications from heart surgery, with him being honoured at the Academy Awards the following night for his outstanding contribution to the industry.
Actress Amanda Seyfried has now spoken out about her grief since the news of Paxton’s death came to light.
She starred opposite Bill in the HBO series Big Love, which ran from 2006 to 2011, playing his on-screen daughter Sarah Henrickson.
In an interview with People, the 31-year old revealed just how much the star meant to her.
He was an amazing and supportive father-figure to me in my early career. Incredibly inspired and full of life at every turn, he made you feel like everything was possible. This is a terrible loss.
It seems the Big Love actor touched the lives of many throughout his applaudable acting career.
Other celebrities have spoken out to pay tribute to the actor and director, who’s best known work includes The Terminator, Aliens, True Lies, Apollo 13 and Titanic, among many others.
Co-stars he worked with throughout the years, including Ginnifer Goodwin, who starred as his wife in Big Love, Jamie Lee Curtis, director James Cameron and Helen Hunt, have all honoured the star since he passed away over the weekend.
Bud Cort, Paxton’s co-star in Brain Dead, had been his close friend and colleague since the ’70s.
He also released a touching statement about his late friend.
All of the laughs and joyful times and deep conversations we’ve shared for so many years are safe in my heart forever. You really did it and with such style, class and soul and intelligence and, of course, your incomparable humour.
Jennifer Aniston also paid tribute to Bill at the Oscars ceremony on Sunday night, saying,
Each and every one was a cherished member of our Hollywood family. As was beloved actor and friend who left us yesterday, Bill Paxton. All were loved and all will be missed.
