Lady Gaga Announced As Coachella Headline Act In Place Of Beyoncé
It was announced last week that Beyoncé is pulling out of Coachella festival this year due to doctors’ orders.
And whilst there would be nothing better than seeing Queen Bey do her thing in the middle of the Colorado desert, her unborn twins certainly take priority.
Lady Gaga is now set to head to Indio, California this April as she’s been announced as the replacement headline act for Beyoncé.
The 30-year old superstar took to Twitter to announce the news saying, ‘let’s party in the desert!’
The tweet confirms she will be performing on April 15 and 22 at the festival, joining other headline acts Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead.
Other artists set to perform over the two weekends are Lorde, The XX, Bon Iver and loads more.
Gaga has made somewhat of a comeback lately, taking the Super Bowl LI half time show by storm in February and announcing her upcoming tour ‘Joanne World Tour’ that kicks off in August in Canada.
The ‘Million Reasons’ singer will be the first woman to headline the annual festival since Björk ten years ago.
Coachella’s organisers released a statement last month confirming that Beyoncé will no longer be performing at the event.
Following advice of doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.
They have promised however that Mrs Carter will take to the stage at the 2018 Coachella festival instead.
Beyoncé showcased her baby bump at the Grammys in an incredible performance of hit songs ‘Sandcastles’ and ‘Love Drought’ from her album Lemonade.
Despite the disappointment of the ‘Love On Top’ singer not making an appearance at this year’s Coachella, Gaga fans are thrilled to see her step in as the replacement.
Coachella is set to take place over two weekends in April, and tickets have already sold out.
