Brangelina Reportedly Got ‘Spiritually Binding’ Tattoos Just Before Their Split
Brangleina broke everyone’s heart when they announced their split last year, with them once being Hollywood’s hottest couple.
But it has now emerged that just months before they split up, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got matching spiritual tattoos.
The ex-husband and wife are said to have got the corresponding tats in Thailand last February.
The 41-year old mom of six now has a permanent reminder of her turbulent relationship with Brad and the final months of their marriage.
The former lovers were tattooed together by Ajarn noo Kanpai – an ex monk – whilst on vacation in the Asian country.
They were over in Cambodia filming for First They Killed My Father, which Jolie directed, and took a short break in Thailand where they commemorated their love for one another with matching ink.
Ange reportedly got a Sak Yant tattoo on her back, and Brad had a Buddhist design tattooed onto his stomach.
The same ink was used for the pair as a way of spiritually binding them as husband and wife – just seven months before they split.
Steel rods that were mounted with a surgical needle were used to imprint the designs on to Jolie’s back, a process that is said to be much more painful than a normal tattoo gun.
Brad then had a tattoo etched onto his skin using the same needle and ink as his wife, a tradition that symbolises a spiritual bond between husband and wife.
The monk’s tattoos are popular among other A-list stars, with the likes of Cara Delevingne and Michelle Rodriguez getting the expensive procedure done.
The sacred tattoos are said to protect those who have them.
Brad and Ange called it quits after a 12-year relationship and two year marriage, with them currently going through a tough custody battle and divorce settlement to decide what’s best for their six children.
In order for Pitt to gain access to his kids, it’s been reported that he has to undergo regular alcohol and drug screenings. He was accused of displaying aggressive behaviour to their son Maddox, but the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence.
The Girl, Interrupted actress recently spoke out about the high profile split, saying,
My whole family have all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children and my focus is finding this way through.
We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping.
I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer.
