Hugh Hefner Skips Party For His New Amazon TV Series
Hugh Hefner was nowhere to be seen at the party for his new Amazon series this week.
His iconic Playboy Mansion is famous for its wild parties.
Yet Hefner was a no-show at the event for his new series American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story.
The documentary series delves into the life of the Playboy star since he first found fame.
It uses interviews, video footage from throughout the years and reenactments to tell his incredible story.
The famous businessman turns 91 this week, but his absence at the plush celebration suggests his days of partying are over.
Hefner’s youngest son, 25-year old Cooper, was host for the night while his father stayed away.
Speaking of his father to The Associated Press, Cooper (right) revealed,
He will kill me if I print or if you say anything about him retiring. But I think he is really enjoying his life as a 90-year-old at the mansion.
Hugh will celebrate his 91st on Sunday the same way he does each year; watching Casablanca at his home cinema.
The legendary playboy is still the editor-in-chief of the magazine, although it no longer has printed editions.
I see the magazine’s role as… being the flagship of the brand, the brand bible… We’re going to be able to reach a whole lot more people with our 44 million social media audience or the monthly uniques we get on dot-com. So it’s just a shift in strategy.
Hef is supposedly doing ‘great’, according to his son, despite him keeping a low profile over the last year. ‘His back is bad – that comes along with ageing’.
The world famous millionaire will stay in the mansion for as long as he lives, even though it was sold for $100 million last year.
American Playboy finally debuts on Friday with the aim to reel in a millennial audience.
