Linkin Park Team Up With UK Rapper Stormzy For Duet Track

In the most unusual hookup ever, rock band Linkin Park have joined forces with UK grime star Stormzy.

The song, ‘Good Goodbye’, appears on the California band’s upcoming album One More Light.

But it turns out it wasn’t too difficult for the nu-metal group to get Stormzy on board.

Talking to BeBoxMusic, the band’s frontman Chester Bennington revealed,

We like Stormzy and we think that he’s dope. Little did we know that, he was about to take over the world.

Due to their love for the ‘Shut Up’ rapper, the band reached out to ask him to collaborate on their sixth album.

Hey, we like Stormzy, here’s a track if you would like to participate on it, that would be awesome. Apparently he was like, ‘Yeah.’ That wasn’t that difficult, but we knew of Stormzy and that’s why we reached out to him.

The album track also features American rapper Pusha T.

Linkin Park, who are known for merging heavy-metal with other genres such as hip hop, have spoken out previously regarding their love for grime music.

With big interest in the likes of Skepta, Giggs, and, of course, Stormzy, the band understand the rise of the grime genre.

Their new album, which is due for release May 19, is their first record since 2014.

The lead single, ‘Heavy’, features singer-songwriter Kiiara.

Stormzy took to Instagram to announce the news of their collaboration last night, saying,

Captioning the post with ‘Amen’, it seems both artists are looking forward to its release.

Stormzy climbed to the UK number one spot last month for his debut album Gang Signs & Prayers.
