Ed is totally owning the charts at the moment with his latest album Divide.

Sheeran fever is certainly swooping the world and, in particular, Ireland.

The city of Galway has been brought to a standstill yesterday as the singer filmed his upcoming music video for ‘Galway Girl’.

Of course it only seems right that Sheeran has chosen the Irish city to shoot the video for the chart-topping song.

But it seems every Irish fan around tried to gain a glimpse of the ‘A-Team’ star.

Huge crowds gathered outside O’Connells pub in the Salthill area of the city all in a bit to meet the man himself.

‘Galway Girl’ is set to be the third single taken from his new album.

The Irish feel-good hit follows on from number one single ‘Shape of You’ as well as ‘Castle on the Hill’.

It’s already reached number two on the UK single’s chart but is yet to rank on the US Billboard 100.

Fans in Galway have been quick to share their snaps of the singer in the city.

With one fan sharing,

The owners of the pub Sheeran filmed at also tweeted their thanks to the worldwide star, saying,

Ed himself has expressed his thanks to the Irish city for their help.

Sheeran took to Instagram to thank all his Galway fans for such a great experience, posting,

Thank you to Galway and all the wonderful people in it for helping us shoot a music video yesterday x
