Kendrick Lamar’s New Album DAMN Is Already On The Way To Number 1
Kendrick Lamar’s release of DAMN proves just why he is one of the best rappers of today.
Following his performance at Sunday night’s Coachella, his latest album is already on its way to topping the charts.
Leading critic review site Metacritc has already reached the score of 99/100 for his new record.
The New York Times describe the artist’s fourth album as ‘punchy’ and ‘boisterous’.
While Paste Magazine call it ‘one of the most impressive run of albums of any artist in recent memory’.
Billboard are also reporting that the California-born artist is on the way to make up to half million album units this week, according to forecasters.
If Lamar’s DAMN carries on in its success, it could be the second biggest album of the year, while Drake‘s More Life takes the lead.
Kendrick first took to the Coachella stage in 2012 as a guest on Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s headline set.
However, this year Lamar is one of the headline acts at the Colorado desert festival.
His performance at weekend one of the event saw him welcome his Future and Travis Scott on stage.
DAMN‘s lead single ‘Humble’ is already a fan-favourite and topping Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’.
The album, which is one its way to becoming his third number one, sees him do an unlikely collaboration with Irish-band U2.
The 29-year old has previously debuted the album charts with untitled unmastered and To Pimp A Butterfly.
