Chris Pratt Speaks Out About Jurassic World 2: ‘Scarier, Darker & Unexpected’
Jurassic World fans are expecting big things from the movie’s sequel.
And Chris Pratt isn’t holding back on giving them a taste of what is to come.
He is currently promoting his next blockbuster hit, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
But the actor is using his current press tour as the perfect opportunity to discuss Jurassic World 2.
The first instalment, a reboot of the original Jurassic Park, first hit our screens in 2015.
Pratt is reprising his role as dinosaur trainer and Navy veteran Owen Grady in the 2018 sequel.
It’s clear that the 37-year old is very fond of the Jurassic World director J.A. Bayona, with him saying,
Aw man, J.A. Bayona? Do you know that filmmaker? He’s a remarkable filmmaker. If you haven’t seen The Impossible or A Monster Calls, I mean he’s really visually masterful. Deep emotions and suspense.
While he can’t give too much away, Chris hints that the second instalment will be more gruesome, saying,
I think it’s going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn’t have imagined.
The director also suggests the sequel is ‘darker’ and more ‘shocking’.
Despite the cast being tight-lipped on the plot, it’s thought to centre around government-controlled dinosaurs.
The much-loved actor admits his family – wife Anna Faris and his son Jack, aged 4 – keep him grounded at the height of his Hollywood success.
They are currently on tour with him promoting Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.
Recently talking to ET Online, Pratt reveals,
That has been the best part of this world tour by far. It’s nice to have your family with you because it brings you down to earth and when you leave your feet on the ground, you realise what it feels like to have your head in the clouds.
On his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Pratt melted hearts as he revealed his son’s excitement when visiting the Guardians of the Galaxy set.
A proud Pratt re-told the moment Jack had a tour of the set, telling Jimmy,
Jack is now four years old and he is just now starting to get it. Like he came to visit–that was my favorite memory from this movie–my little guy got to come to set. And our director James, his nephew Will was there and they’re around the same age. We got to tour them around the Guardians spaceship. And he, like, you saw it in his eyes, thought, ‘I’ve seen it on TV or in the movie, but I guess my dad really does fly a spaceship for work.’
Jurassic World 2 is out on June 22, 2018.
