Jennifer Aniston Reveals Why We Never Got The Friends Reunion We Were Hoping For
Friends is the biggest and best show to come out of the ’90s.
And ever since the sitcom came off our screens in 2004 we’ve been patiently waiting for the six roomies to reunite.
But Jennifer Aniston, or Rachel to us, has finally revealed why that much-wanted reunion never happened.
Talking in a recent interview with iHeartRadio, Aniston explained,
“If Friends was created today, you would have a coffee shop full of people that were just staring into iPhones.”
“There would be no actual episodes or conversations.”
So it seems Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross, just wouldn’t be able to keep up with 2017’s technology.
Friends still has millions of viewers, despite it being 23 years since its debut.
And while we will never tire of watching re-runs, maybe Jen has a point.
She continued to host Arianna Huffington,
“Now you have a computer, a television, and a phone. There’s no room.”
But maybe the 48-year old’s opinion comes from her own distance on social media.
When talking about her absence on the likes of Twitter and Instagram, she admits, “I couldn’t even figure it out”.
She explains that she keeps away from social media for her own “self-preservation”.
“My husband’s on Instagram, and people that I know are on Instagram. I have anxiety watching them navigate through Instagram.”
“It’s kind of a little bit out of sight out of mind… but then you find yourself the only one that doesn’t have it and there’s no one to talk to, because everyone’s head is stuck in their phone.”
