Miley Cyrus Denies There Will Be A Hannah Montana Revival
Hannah Montana fans won’t get the revival they’re hoping for according to the show’s lead actress.
Miley Cyrus, who is currently promoting her new single ‘Malibu’, recently squashed rumours of a comeback in the role that made her famous.
But the reason behind her reluctancy to put the blonde wig on again seems to be down to her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Appearing on the Zach Sang Show, the 24-year old explained,
“I had to go to Disney the other day to promote, and that was, you know, that was the first thing they said, because Raven’s back.”
“I didn’t get a school escape like most people. I went to work with my dad!”
“That was really hard, every day from, like, 11 to 18… and then I started driving my dad towards the end because I could start driving, and then my grandma went with me. So that was a lot of time spent with my dad and grandma, which is why, when I turned 18, you wondered why I was twerking at the Juicy J show.”
“I just spent 10 years everyday with my dad and grandma. I had to break free.”
Miley turned her attentions to a serious career in pop in 2011 after many years of being a Disney star.
Hannah Montana is one of Disney’s biggest ever shows.
Running from 2006 to 2011, Miley’s fanbase grew stronger every series.
But she admits she was never given special treatment on the show.
Talking to Elle magazine, The Last Song star revealed,
“I did not grow up spoiled in any way.”
“I just wanted to be on TV… At one point – they’ll probably kill me for saying it – I was probably the least-paid person on my cast, because I didn’t know any better [because] I was just like, ‘I can be on Disney! Yeah, I want to do it!’
“My name was Miley on my show, but I didn’t own my name,”
“We didn’t think about that. Like, ‘Yeah, you can use my name on your show, sure!’ My mom started understanding how many people take advantage of a child, so she hired smart people to protect me in that way.”
