Katy Perry Apologises To Taylor Swift: ‘I Love Her And I Want The Best For Her’
Despite people speculating just last week that their feud was far from over – cue Taylor’s re-release of her albums on Spotify on the same day as Katy’s new album release – the ‘Roar’ singer has spoken out about wanting to make peace with the blonde superstar.
She’s currently promoting her new record Witness, and got speaking of the high-profile argument between her and Swift.
Talking to Arianna Huffington in an interview for Thrive Global Podcast, the 32-year old admits she’s completely over their rivalry.
I am ready to let it go! I forgive, I forgive, I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did and hope the same from her.
The ‘Bon Apetit’ star, who took to the stage last week at Grande’s benefit concert ‘One Love Manchester‘ continued,
I think it’s time. There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I’m saying? I love her, and I want the best for her… I think she’s a fantastic songwriter.
And the chart-topping songstress didn’t stop there, going on to talk about how herself and Taylor can put their differences aside as an inspiration to fans.
If we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, “Yeah, well we can do this”.
It seems Perry is seeking a fresh start with the ‘Shake it Off’ star, finally telling Huffington,
Like maybe I don’t agree with everything she does and she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but I just really truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion.
Katy’s change of heart comes as a shock to fans, who just last week saw Perry accuse Swift of trying to ‘assassinate her character’.
In an interview with NME, Perry claimed,
I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I’m also not a pushover, you know?mEspecially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls.
Their argument began in 2013 when Taylor accused Perry of stealing her backup dancers from her Red tour.
And Taylor’s number one hit ‘Bad Blood’ is infamously about their public clash.
While newly blonde Perry has spoken very openly in recent weeks about their feud, Swift has remained quiet on the matter for some time.
It’s thought she’s currently taking some time out of the limelight to work on her new album.
And has been spotted getting up close with British actor Joe Alwyn.
Fans have been taking to Twitter since Perry’s peace-making interview.
I can’t breathe at Katy saying she loves and forgives Taylor and wants to be the example of strong women sticking together.

While some aren’t too convinced by Perry’s claims.
No offence but Katy was being annoying about Taylor like last week and now magically she loves her and wants to be bffs.

Taylor is yet to comment on Katy’s recent interview; is their bad blood finally going to be over?
