Louis Tomlinson has finally dropped the release date for his highly-anticipated single ‘Back To You’.
The former One Direction heartthrob is collaborating with American artist, Bebe Rexha, for the summer hit.
And after weeks of teasing the upcoming song, Tomlinson has now revealed it will enter the charts on July 21.
Breaking the news to his 24 million Twitter followers, the solo artist posted a snap of the single’s cover art along with the caption “July 21st #BackToYou”.

And fans are already seriously hyped for the 25-year old’s next solo single.
YAAAAAAY!!!!! Can’t wait…
While this excited fan tweeted,
My entire life and existence is cancelled.
To which another one of Louis’ admirers agreed, saying,
Let me just clear my life schedule so that I can fit in a little [bit] of Louis Tomlinson.
Yet other eagle-eyed tweeters have been quick to pick up on the significance of Louis’ release date.
July 21 is also when Harry makes his film debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
And there is already speculation that Louis has chosen that date on purpose.
One fan tweeted the ‘Just Hold On’ singer saying,
The same day as dunkirk comes out are [you] kidding me.

But other Directioners are over the moon with the clash.
Dunkirk in my country is on 21st July. Back to you is on 21st July too. STOP KILLING ME YOU BOTH.

Talking of his upcoming song, Louis said he wanted to release something “a little less soppy” compared to ‘Just Hold On’.
He told his fans on Twitter,
With this song we wanted to write something a little less soppy. It’s about that one person that no matter how hard you try, you keep coming back to. All your support has been amazing and I can’t wait for you to hear the track.
Despite his worldwide success, both in and out of the group that rose him to fame, Tomlinson recently spoke out about being the “forgettable” member of One Direction.
With the five boys all pursuing solo careers, Louis feels he is the least significant member.
Talking to The Guardian, Louis explained,
The others have always been… like Niall, for example. He’s the most lovely guy in the world. Happy-go-lucky Irish, no sense of arrogance. And he’s fearless. There are times I’ve thought: ‘I’d have a bit of that’.
He goes on to talk about his former bandmate Zayn Malik, the first to leave the band.
Zayn, back in the day. He could relate to me on a nerves level. In the first year we were both the least confident. But Zayn has a fantastic voice and for him it was always about owning that.
And he certainly didn’t leave Harry Styles and Liam Payne out, saying,
Liam always had a good stage presence, same as Harry; they’ve both got that ownership. Harry comes across very cool. Liam’s all about getting the crowd going, doing a bit of dancing… And then there’s me.
It seems Louis’ lack of confidence stems from The X Factor days.
You know I didn’t sing a single solo on the X Factor… when you actually think about how that feels, standing on stage every single week, thinking: ‘What have I really done to contribute here? Sing a lower harmony that you can’t really hear in the mix? In the last year of One Direction I was probably the most confident I ever was. And then it was: ‘OK, hiatus!’
But if Louis’ fans’ reactions are anything to go by, he certainly isn’t forgettable at all.
He also took to Instagram to announce the news of his impending hit, sharing a snap of him and Bebe Rexha.
Roll on July 21!
