Jack Gilinsky Sparks Twitter War After His Public Apology To Ex Girlfriend Madison Beer

Jack Gilinsky has been forced to admit the leaked audio of him being verbally abusive to his ex-girlfriend, Madison Beer, is true.

In the exposed clip, Gilinsky is heard shouting obscene things to his then-girlfriend of two years.

The 20-year-old musician is even heard calling Madison “a f***ing slut” after a fight broke out over her not liking some of his music.

Since the web got hold of the shocking clip, Jack has stepped forward to make a public apology.

He’s taken to Twitter to say there is “no justifying” his behaviour.

Talking to his 3.4 million followers, the ‘2 Cigarettes’ singer wrote,

There’s no justifying the words that came out of my mouth in that audio file. In no way do I stand behind who I was in that part of my life. But people change & learn from their mistakes. The clip you’ve all heard is from last year. I was in a very dark place, & clearly had no control over my emotions.

The US artist, who makes up one half of music duo Jack & Jack, goes on to explain him and Madison are no longer together.

It’s painful for me because most people think that this clip is current & is an accurate representation of where Madison & I stand today, when that is far from the truth. Like any couple, Mad & I have had our fair share of ups & downs, this clip specifically being one of our lowest points. Madison knew if she didn’t help me overcome my ways and change, no one would, & I would never learn from my mistakes. I’ll never be able to thank her enough for believing in me the way she did during that time. As terrible & unforgivable as the words I said in that clip were, we worked [through] it together as a couple. & even though we aren’t together now, she is someone I will love forever & care about regardless of where we are in our individual lives.

His heartfelt post sees him say sorry to the fans who look up to him for inspiration.

In no way do I expect to be forgiven or felt bad for… I am truly sorry to all of my fans or anyone who used to gain inspiration from me. That is not the person I am today & I do not want ANYONE to think it’s ok to act the way I acted in that clip.

Since his tweet, the hashtag ‘WeLoveYouGilinsky’ has been trending on Twitter, with many of his fans seeming to forgive the star for his abusive ways.

But most tweeters are outraged by the sudden love and support social media is showing for the pop star.

One wrote,

Hashtags like #weloveyougilinksy are reasons why women don’t reveal they’ve been in abusive relationships/situations

And others seems to agree, with one person saying the trending hashtag is essentially supporting relationship abuse.

#WeLoveYouGilinsky welcome to 2017 where we support abusers and tell them everything is okay instead of the one who really needs to hear it

Another unimpressed fan tweeted,

If that audio wasn’t leaked, he would have never apologized. And if he wasn’t “famous” y’all wouldn’t have forgave him.

And this tweeter pointed out how the two-year age gap between Jack and his ex Madison makes things even worse.

Hold up he’s been abusive since she was a minor and he was an adult? And you guys are praising him because he said sorry.

Madison, who rose to fame after Justin Bieber shared a video of her singing, hasn’t spoken out about her Gilinsky’s apology.

She’s currently promoting her new single ‘Dead’, telling her 2 million followers last week,

DEAD just broke 100,000,000 streams. Thank u guys for the support on this song. I love u forever. Much more to come.
