Victoria Beckham Celebrates 21 Years Of Spice Girls ‘Wannabe’
Victoria Beckham may now be a leading fashion designer and have an OBE under her belt, but to us she will always be Posh Spice.
The 43-year old took to Instagram today to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the Spice Girls debut single ‘Wannabe’.
Yes, it’s been over 20 years since we were strutting our stuff in front of the television trying to “zig-a-zig-ahh”.
But it’s not just the mom of three who is celebrating the former girl band’s milestone.
A bunch of A-listers teamed up with W magazine to sing the number one hit that rose the Spice Girls up to girl power fame.
The likes of Nicole Kidman, Milly Bobby Brown and James Franco star in the compilation video to celebrate the much-loved song.
Beckham shared the clip on her Instagram, saying,
Happy 21st anniversary #wannabe!! Love this, thank you [W mag] #girlpower
And of course she tagged her ex-bandmates, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton.
And let’s face it, what better way to mark the occasion than see James Franco get his groove on?
Stranger Things star, Milly Bobby Brown, opens the song up with an enthusiastic dance, while Nicole Kidman goes for a more sultry take on the famous lyrics.
Talking to W magazine ahead of making the song, Kidman revealed that VB is her favourite Spice Girl.
Ah, it would have to be Posh, right? She’s got an amazing life. I wore one of her dresses recently and I was, like, oh, this is heaven. It had the whole back out of it.
And 13-year old Millie admits she also favours towards Posh.
I’m obsessed with the Spice Girls. I like Sporty Spice and I usually was Sporty Spice, but I do have a soft, soft spot for Posh!
Franco, however, shamefully admits he was never the biggest Spice Girls fan.
The Spice Girls? I sort of missed out on that phase. The one that pops into my head is Baby Spice, but I don’t know why. I guess maybe I’m drawn to blondes, I don’t know.
Fans couldn’t get enough of Victoria’s nostalgic post.
One Spice Girls obsessive wrote,
I miss u guys so much.
While another fan admitted the Spice Girls anniversary makes her feel old.
So how old I am now… spicegirls came into my life since junior high school… missing you all.
